利益追求、なぜ税金を払うのか？これを英語にすると？
税金関係の英語、よくわからない！ ビジネス英語のヘルパー、ユキーナ・サントスです。

公明正大に利益を追求する。
今回はこのお話です
この意味は、経営者がその経営目的を達成するために税金をどのように考えるか、ということだと思います。もちろん、不正をしないとか他にもいろいろ悩みはあります。けれども1番大きいところは税金との関連ではないでしょうか?
ほとんどの経営者は、税金を払いたくありません。税金を払わないという事は、売り上げを少なくし、経費を大きくするということです。そのためには、無意識のうちに売り上げを少なくし、なるべく経費を大きくしようという意識が働きます。これは、経営12箇条中にもある、売上を最大に経費を最小限にという方針と真反対のことです。
「売上最大、経費最小」と「売上最小、経費最大」は真逆のことです。前者を唱えていても心の中で後者を望むとそれが潜在意識に浸透します。そうすると潜在意識で思ったとおりのことが起こります。無意識のうちに売上を低くし、経費を増やしてしまうのです。 利益が出ない体質になります。
これを防ぐためには、そのマインドを変えて潜在意識を書き換えなければいけません。
そのためにこの「公明正大に利益を追求する」があると思います。利益を最大にする、その結果の税金は、決まりに従って払うと覚悟を決めてしまえば自分の中で矛盾がなくなります。
また、私は日本人であるというだけで これまでたくさんの恩恵を受けました。与えられたものを返しプラスのエネルギーが循環するようにしたいと思います。日本から与えられるだけでなく、自ら還元できるようになれば、より大きな渦が作れると思います。
このようにプラスのエネルギーが回る渦の中心になりたいと思います。
さて、これを英語にしてみましょう
Fairly pursue the profit
Mr.Inamori mentioned the word “fair” in the context of tax saving attitude. In order for a company to save the tax, the top management naturally tend to have the mind “minimize the revenue and maximize the expense”. This is obviously contradictory to the management principle “maximizing revenues and minimizing the expenses”
As for the revenue side, you have to think about how to accumulate the sales. You should focus on how much sales you can achieve. However, once you’re obsessed with the idea that your sales should be lower than you can, your actions have been influenced by such contradictory mindset. This can be the obstacle for you to have the right decisions in the management process. Once you have determined to deliver the highest sales and accept the tax ratio, you can pour more than hundred percent of energies to pile up the sales amount.
As to the expense, less tax mind unintentionally leads your actions and decisions to waste your resources by ravish behaviors. You purchase unnecessary goods or services to consume all of your budgets. You may choose rather expensive vehicles or equipment to enlarge your expense figures. In other words, your money is exchanged for satisfying no one but reducing your fear: being charged high tax. This obviously shows unhealthy decision making.
Therefore, Mr. Inamori reiterates that managements have always to be fair in chasing the profit upon the determination of paying the necessary tax.
One thing I would like to highlight is the gratitude for my country. I was born and raised here in Japan. In all my life, I have never suffered from hunger, criminals or wars. Rather, I have enjoyed a wide variety of cultures, had a capability of handling such a difficult language, and taken advantages of highest educational program. Japan itself has helped me a lot. Now it’s my turn to demonstrate my gratitude, otherwise I would remain the position of “taking ”, not “giving ”. This is the universal rules that I believe. I feel that I have been the lucky one. This is probably due to the withholding tax I paid to Japan in the past. Therefore, I would like to commit to pay more tax in my future business operation to secure the happiness of my people.
